I wonder if there's a way to make Geocaching pay.... anyone local want me to visit and sign all the logs for you? I'm cheap. Cost ya only a buck each star for the diffculty plus the terrain....

Now thats funny! However, the scary part is there are some people who may take you up on that.:blink::D

I was the first FSNI (Foreign Service National Investigator) at the American Embassy in Switzerland. After I quit after almost 20 years in the security business, I have now a much less spectacular job. I am now a call agent for the Swiss TCS, the equivalent of the American AAA, a nationwide road side assistance organisation. It might be less spectacular, but it is definitely cheaper for the American tax payer, as I was on the payroll of the Departement of State. So, be happy that I quit!

When I retire from sitting around all day reading the Groundspeak forum threads waiting for new geocoins to come out I plan to get a retirement job at Walmart as a greeter too:)

Some previous jobs I had were:

Independent Living Counselors aide, an Independent Living Counselor, customer service rep for a credit card company (that was real fun, not!), I also used to take orders for all the junk you see on tv that has an 800 number attatched to it (I used to sell Jerry Springer videos:( ) at a teleservices company.

That's a TB (the stuffed one) with a goal to visit zoos.

Cool job! Do you work at Cheyenne Mtn. Zoo? Haven't been there in awhile. I need to take the kids next summer!

Teacher here. Gives you summers to geocache! ;)

I work in Surveillance at a casino in the St. Louis Area.

Yes, we catch people cheating. No, our job is nothing like the TV show "Las Vegas".

Currently, I work at what some would call the worst in the area. In two weeks, I'll be working at the newest.

VCRs to DVRs. I can't wait.

Went to that zoo twice-years ago. Loved it. My son and family now live in Colorado Springs. Last time we visited we didn't get to the zoo due to other priorities, but I will make it a point to go to that neat place next time.

I survived 22+ years in the Air Force then spent several years teaching computer courses at a two year college while setting up and maintaining computer labs and associated networks and contracting out to the District's IT office.

Now I just work part time for a nonprofit senior center cooking the books.

23 years in IT for a major corporation, the last 10 as a systems programmer and before that a COBOL programmer, systems analyst and computer operator.

I was laid off in 2001 and got a job with a consulting company and I go where and do what they tell me to do. So far I've helped set up, then worked in a call center, been an auditor, a data entry clerk and a software tester.

Sounds somewhat familiar (COBOL, systems analyst, etc.). Did the major company thing and jumped ship to join a dot com. Dot com got bought out, I got laid off, cashed in my options and been enjoying life ever since.

Lately, I've been pestering people for a living. I used to pester HS students, working as a substitute teacher. I would pester students to do the work left by their regular teacher, or at the very least not to kill each other.

I got a job over the summer, that has been extended indefinitely, pestering adults. Now I call medical establishments to see it they recieved our faxes. Boring as heck, but I don't have to keep anyone from trying to kill each other, skip class, swear, etc... just pester!

My real vocation is as an artist. It's what I studied in college. Unfortunately, I'm too busy pestering people to get much art done. <_< Sadly, pestering pays better than painting.

Gorillagal,

Now it all makes sense! My wife (a bio major at UCCS) and I have enjoyed quite a few of you caches in the area and are members of the CMZ! I am sure that we have seen you several times while you were working - just never put a face with your name. Keep up the good work over there FYI!

I work at an architecture firm during the day. Mostly work on commercial buildings and larger projects. Educated with a Mechanical Engineering degree - but sometimes you don't work in the exact same field you got your degree in. Anyone else work outside their educated field of study?

I also lead a secret life too - I have a 2nd job.

I work during the day - but by night in the evenings I run and own a Geocaching store. Something I really felt inspired to do - I love being self employed! Its tough work after being at the day job for 9 hrs, but I really have a lot of fun doing it. Check out my profile if you are interested for more information.

My job description says I'm a senior research associate involved in pre-clinical testing and development of an autologous, therapeutic cancer vaccine as well as some infectious disease work using the same/similar technology.

Or mad scientist if you prefer.

Lately (the past few months) that means I mostly sit at my desk most of the day surfing the internet and planning for Halloween while looking like I'm busy. You might say our workload has trailed off a bit lately. <_<

We already have playback, but being able to playback while still recording will be nice!

I also can't wait for object analysis. Makes looking for that stolen purse a lot easier.

mmmm Vicon is your friend. I've played with both, nothing better than the DVR - playback is a dream.

Yes. Eating chocolate bon bons (or being fed grapes) all day is a lot harder than everyone might think. I have a tough life. :D

Are you hiring? I'll forward my resume.

Send a pic of you holding some grapes, and then we'll talk. :D:huh:

I've seen him holding some grapes - you don't want to! :D

:o

Aw.....it's not so bad.

Parks Dept Supervisor.

I get to drive a dark green pickup truck from park to park.

Oh, and when I'm short-staffed (which seems to be all the time) I do whatever else needs to be done. From cleaning restrooms, plumbing, paperwork and weed whacking to operating heavy equipment, and everything in between.

Graphic arts/publishing, and web development/maintenance. Accepted a WAY early retirement from one of the Big Three (think 'Blue Oval') because it was really the only practical thing to do. Since then have had a great time building a couple of mandolins, perusing Groundspeak forums and going out caching. Need to find something regular/profitable soon, though, else I'll have to hock the GPS ....
