Topo-2008 ---Garmin530hcx Do you have Mapsource street maps loaded on the unit already? If you do, you need to turn those maps off to see the Topo's. Quote Link to comment

furglasses
I figured it out. I RE-downloaded topo 2008 and it worked...but then I couldnt get the whole u.s on the gps because I only have a 1 gig. memory card.. So I wonder were I can get a like 4 or 5 gig. Quote Link to comment

You still won't be able to get the entire country. It's a segment limit problem, not a memory size problem. Edited October 10, 2007 by Prime Suspect Quote Link to comment
furglasses
what does segment mean.. Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
The maps are broken up into segments. There is a limit as far as how many map segments you can load. You can't use a card larger than 2GB in your unit so don't buy one larger than that. Is there some reason you need the entire US TOPO loaded? If you really need the whole thing you could buy more than one 2GB card and put part of it on each one. Quote Link to comment
furglasses
well the truth is it would be nice to have just in case their was ever a terrorist attack or any reason that I would need to navigate my way through the country without any other means kinda suck carrying an atlas around plus it lacks the features. paranoid geo cacher Quote Link to comment
