+Kit Fox
Canyon Lake Gorge The Canyon Lake Gorge is a beautiful and natural insight into the geology and hydrologic dynamics of glenrose limestone in Comal County near Canyon Lake. The Gorge was created, or "cut" when floodwaters escaped over the Spillway at Canyon Lake during the Flood Event of 2002. The Gorge Preservation Society (GPS) is a local citizen's group who have partnered with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This organization is a 501©(3) non-profit organization and is dedicated to developing long-term plans for the Gorge. GPS is in the final stages of developing the Master Plan for this unique area. See the GPS Membership link for more details. They even have GPS in their name! Looks like there are plenty of regular caches in the area also(GCXHFX) Yahoo article Quote Link to comment
+Vinny & Sue Team
Eeek! A canyon, and, from the looks of it on Google Earth, a canyon wide enough to fly a plane through! I just hope that Blackwater pilots do not discover it, else it will be littered with bodies! (By the way, as a certificated pilot myself, I felt that it was very sad that the pilot's bizarre lack of discipline (and training) killed the soldiers and officers who where his passengers.)
