Fernous1
I am new to Geocaching and I need help. I need help with the puzzle of "Lost Weekend" in Westport Ct. I got the first part of the puzzle. I am having a real hard time with the second part to get the cord. to the hide. Any help would be great. Thanks for putting up with the "new guy" Quote Link to comment
+Kiwi Nomad
Welcome to geocaching. Best suggestion I can give you is to e-mail the owner of the cache for a hint. It is not polite to post hints on here to other peoples caches. Good luck with the hunt. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Have you tried contacting the owner? It is considered "bad form" to ask for puzzle help in the forums. Sorry..... Quote Link to comment
Fernous1
Sorry did not know that it was bad form to ask for help on forum. Thanks for letting me know and dealing with the "new guy." Quote Link to comment
+Lostboy1966
I agree - you should feel free to contact the cache owner if you are stuck. From what I've heard he's a pretty friendly guy (if a bit odd), and is always happy to see a new 'Found It' log for his hides. Quote Link to comment
+ABrimberry
We definitely don't want to help other GCers. Quote Link to comment
+dkwolf
We definitely don't want to help other GCers. Dude, I think you've got it all wrong. It's not a matter of not wanting to help other cachers; it's a matter of wanting to preserve the intents of the hider. Some people like to hide easy caches that anyone can find, some people like to hide Psycho caches that cause you to risk life and limb to find. Some create puzzles that military codebreakers would have a hard time with. Is it really a find on a cache that is designed to use a puzzle, if you circumvent the puzzle? Just like is it a find on a cache that requires a 5 mile hike, if someone goes and gets it and brings it to you? Same thing. I am considering hiding a cache that would use matrix multiplication to get the final coords. I'll try to make the final a worthwhile place, but the intent of the cache is to challenge people mentally, not physically. Kinda defeats the purpose if someone else gives away the steps or the answer, isn't it? Quote Link to comment
