Hi freeday!

How did you put those pictures here? Copy-Paste?

copy (with ALT+PRINT for the active window)

then open a picture editor (mspaint.exe or photoshop,...)

paste it and save it

next step is to upload it to the internet (for example via: http://www.1mb.at/)

last step is to insert the image (with the internetadress of the image from the step before) in the thread

Hi!

There is a new software version for the Etrex Legend HCx - 2.40 . One of the points is

"Fix WebUpdater issue of GPS firmware"

So I think this problem is resolve. Only this night I could test it.

Hi

Yesterday I updated my Legend HCx to the new software version 2.40.

I find that as a result of doing a direct update (not using updater) that

it has played havoc with my unit.

1. I can no longer acquire satellites even though I have tried using "New

Location" and setting it outside for 15 mins in direct view of satellites.

2. The date is shown as the 28th September 2007.

3. The time shown is 15.36 - time I did the update.

In short I am unable to use my unit as a result of doing this update.

Does anyone have any idea how to try to deal with this situation?

Also would a "hard start" help and if so how do I do a "hard start"?

Thanks for any help offered.

Regards,

Gerald

AAAACK!!!! Don't tell me there's a problem updating firmware. Did I say AAAACK, yet?

To do a hard reset, hold down the Page Button (upper right), the Click Stick (front of unit) and Power On while holding these two buttons. This will clear all user data, but you should get a confirmation of "Are You Sure" or something like that. Data loss or not, I'd think you don't have anything to lose by trying. Let us know if it works for you.

My guess is that software version 2.40 also needs the MediaTek chipset update version 2.3. The chipset update is not listed as a download as I write this. Unfortunately, only Webupdater will download the chipset update.
