+Zerbel04 Posted September 20, 2007 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Just purchased a Serial-USB adapter for my Etrex Legend so I can download caches directly rather than manual entry. When I try to send co-ordinates to my GPS I get an error message "Windows Error Code 21 - The Device is not ready". I have updated my unit with webupdate and have installed the USP adapter drivers. The GPS is showing up in my devices as com3. I'm not a computer wizard but would appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Some of the those adapters only work on the older 1.1 USB ports. Or you may be using a newer computer with 2.0 USB ports but lack the proper support for them. Causes issues with some of those serial crossover devices. Quote Link to comment

Anyway I've been monkeying around and I am now able to download batches of loc files to gsak so all is well. Still can't use the send to GPS feature with the Garmin plugin but I guess I'll learn how to use gsak and go from there. Thanks for the resonse. Quote Link to comment
