FTF ideas

We are fairly new to geocaching, and we're just about ready to hide our first cache. Should we include a FTF prize? What kinds of items might be appropriate? Thanks!

I offer a FTF prize in all my caches that are big enough to put one in.

I usually put lottery tickets in mine. Gives them a shot at winning a large amount of money. So far the biggest winner has been $50.00

Common FTF prizes I have claimed: gift certificates (Starbucks, pizza, ice cream ...); unactivated geocoins; collectible coins; and the most common, U.S. currency.

It's totally up to you. FTF prizes aren't common, nor expected, just a nice surprise. I've placed over 200 caches and probably put a FTF prize in maybe 10 of them. They included binoculars, a Petzel headlamp, LL Bean hiking pants (for the first person who had a 30 inch waist and 29 inch inseam), geocaching.com hats and unactivated travel bugs and geocoins.

I have neither gotten any ftf or hidden a cache yet but I was thinking one of those new Hallmark musical cards would be nice in a bigger cache with an appropriate song?

We put $5 in ours for the first to find so they can have either a cheap lunch, or if there are several of them, then drinks are on us.

make sure the person who finds the bill (and logs it) doesn't put that they found it in a cache..."where's george" will remove your bill

uh no, they tag the bill as a geocache bill and remove it from being elibible for the "top score" lists. Apperently a bunch of cachers passing a bill around like coins at events is not close enough to natural circulation
