sleecjr
I have a Toshiba laptop with a multi card reader. Everything else works in it, but the 2 gig micro SD will not. I have a 2 gig Sony and it works. Why? Any ideas? Will a outboard card reader help? Are they any faster than just plugging in the unit? Quote Link to comment
Falken227
I had the same problem with my laptop and it turned out to be that the drivers included for the card reader were not able to read cards larger then a certain size ( 1 Gb I think). Something to do with the way they are formated I found a solution and new drivers through Google. I can't find the install files on my computer right now but if you PM me with your email I should be able to find them sometime after work tomorrow if you want to give them a shot. j Quote Link to comment
+bassmig
I had the same problem with one of my external card readers. New one worked, sometimes it depends on the model. I got an external optex cheapie model for like 15$ and it acts like a thumbdrive for my SD card, kinda handy to have. Quote Link to comment
+Lil Devil
Since we're talking a one-time installation of maps (the entire US will fit on a 2gb card) just plug the GPS into your USB port and upload the maps thru it. Start it before you go to bed and it will be done when you wake up. Quote Link to comment
