+PaulThBrit
I am thinking of buying Topo 2008 for my eTrex Vista HCX. Can you use this to generate on-road or off-road routes from one location to another? Paul Quote Link to comment
RenHoek
Nope. While Topo has vector images of roads, it doesn't contain the road routing info that the City Navigator maps have, so you can't do on-road routing with it. Now, if you have two (or more) waypoints, there's nothing keeping you from creating a point-to-point(-to-point...) route to get from point A to point B.... -RenHoek Quote Link to comment
+PaulThBrit
Thanks RenHoek. I guess I will be getting City Navigator NT as well as the Topo 2008. Someone needs to create an auto-routing trail map! Paul Quote Link to comment
RenHoek
BTW - Garmin's US Nat'l Parks Topo DOES have routing capabilities, but they only cover the parks, so not much good for national coverage... Quote Link to comment
+imajeep
US Topo 2008 is great for routing hikes, but IMHO you'll be happier with CN for street routing. Quote Link to comment
