sory139
I have a Garmin Etrex Venture Cx (firmware v2.70) that I've only purchased a few days ago. I put 2 rechargeable 2500mAh NiMH batteries in it and went on a trip. I left it on the whole time. I was curious about battery life, so after I returned I left it to completely drain the batteries. After they were drained I took them out and put an identical, fully charged pair in. The unit failed to start. I tried with different sets of batteries but it was still dead. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? It seems strange that it died after only 1 day (!) of service without being exposed to any sort of shock Quote Link to comment
jonners
Have you tried starting it up with power via the USB port on the unit? Quote Link to comment
+zazth
That is wierd and I would not think this would be a natural chain of events. I quite often use my GPS until it dies. With the Lowrance ifinder that was not too long 6 hours maybe. New batteries and it cam back up. Same thing with the Magellan and even my crappy Garmin. Sounds like yours has issues. I'd return it! sory139
Yes, I tried to start it with USB power; it's still dead. I guess I'll be returning it... Quote Link to comment
