+beachbum64
I got my first unit about a year ago-- a great little Explorist 300, but it was stolen out of my car about 2 months later. Thought I was upgrading to an Exp 500, but ended up sending TWO back to Magellen, then finally got a working unit, but can't get it to work with my new Vista operating system and all these months later they STILL don't have a driver for Vista! I am so frustrated. Getting ready to go on a vacation where we plan to geocache a LOT and want something reliable for $200 or under. Any suggestions? Chris in Lk Stevens, WA PS--Just saw the post about the REI special deal on the Garmin--might be worth it with the $50 rebate. Not sure if I want to spend that much more but might be good since we have a lot of tree cover in most areas? Edited August 25, 2007 by beachbum64 Quote Link to comment
+JohnnyVegas
Magellan has a new free software due out in September that according to the Magellan Website will work with Vista and the Explorist models. I forgot the name of the software, I think it is cap Mapoint or vantage point, I don't know I forgot. Edited August 26, 2007 by JohnnyVegas Quote Link to comment
+imajeep
Garmin has a great reputation for customer service, which my experience bears out. I recommend them without hesitation. Quote Link to comment
