csacsa
I notice the last time I went out, the pointer was turning around in different direction as I was moving in a straight line. It did not do this before. It seemed to do better if the GPS was horizontal. But the point is when I looked at it before I would always look at it in a vertical posiostion with no problem. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment

+imajeep
I use the electronic compass on my 60 CSx. Occasionally, it behaves the way you describe. When it does, I simply recalibrate the compass, and that solves the problem. Quote Link to comment

Any suggestions? You can use it in the vertical position if you're moving in a straight line and the electronic compass is not engaged. But the true electronic compass will give false readings unless you're holding it level. If the "Hold Level" message is being displayed, you're not holding it level and you're not getting an accurate reading. If you're unable to get the "Hold Level" message to go away, you probably need to calibrate the compass. Quote Link to comment
csacsa
I recalibrated it twice. It hasn't helped Quote Link to comment
+Team Dooley
csacsa - you're talking about on the map page and not the electronic compass page aren't you? Mine did the same thing yesterday. The arrow on the map page was not pointing in the direction I was walking. It would point to the right as I was walking with orientation set to 'Track Up'. I didn't try it with 'North Up'. Very strange and disappointing as I just got my 60csx last week. Quote Link to comment

When you've zoomed out to that level or beyond, it shows in North Up mode. Any chance you may have accidentally changed that from the default? Quote Link to comment
csacsa
I am talking about the map page. I'll double check my settings when I get home for the North up mode. Quote Link to comment
