LadyBee4T Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 i am assuming this puzzle could be made with any 5 letters. i am also assuming that the background picture is a hint That's what I'm assuming too but just isn't coming to me.. I really should be reading Harry Potter right now too Quote
sillygirl & jrr Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 2 Hours seems like a good time for a hint. And my coin is the RE Black Nickel, which is still an excellent looking coin. Quote
LadyBee4T Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Just wanted to say: Two hours! It's almost a record. My cointest the other night took about 3hrs and 45 minutes which is way too long as I wanted to go to bed. Do you think we can solve this before you leave work for the day I would guess 45 minutes from now? Quote

Damenace Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Dennis There is a six letter cipher, just like the five letter one you speak of. You can decipher the question using it, and then send him the answer. check your email. Just send me one coin as a birthday gift if you get it TMA Setting up the "key square" is proving to be a little troubling to me. I understand the shifting of the columns and then plugging in the info. I will continue to read up on this until I amable to plug something in. Quote
moscow32 Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Also want to add that hacking my photobucket account won't help, and will make me upset, so whoever just tried to get my password... Don't! Quote
LadyBee4T Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 its not an image map "www" and "com" appear - is there a website hidden somewhere? no 5 letter group contains all 5 letters, only 4 of the 5 letters at the most There is only one column that contains all 5 letters Quote

LadyBee4T Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Some puzzle caches aren't solved for days or even weeks so two hours is a drop in the bucket. I's say he left for work anyway right now. Quote
moscow32 Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Now is it time for a hint? I'll drop a hint just before I leave work in about 25 minutes. Quote
Son of Cyclops Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I think my left part of my brain just melted trying to figure this out. I can't wait for that hint because I have tried removing and CCS in the puzzle, only 3 not including the last thing. I thought it was a puzzle and made a paragraph but there is no way CCS could translate into a 3 letter word. If anyone has made any progress. Please post so we could all work togeather. Quote
moscow32 Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Please post so we could all work togeather. This is my favorite way of solving puzzles. Don't count on the hint to unmelt your brain, SoC! Quote
ByrnedFish Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 its not a vigenere square cipher... unless i messed something up Quote
Damenace Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 And for the record I already viewed the source of the picture and I am sorry to report that Photobucket couldn't help. Also want to add that hacking my photobucket account won't help, and will make me upset, so whoever just tried to get my password... Don't! WOAH!!! Just for the record if you are reffering to my above comment, I said nothing about "hacking" a photobucket account . I merely stated that I viewed the source of your photo( you knowm right click, properties ). If you were not reffering to my comment and indeed someone is trying to "hack" your photobucket, then indeed that is wrong, and they deserve to be tar and feathered . Quote
surteb Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I was thinking vigenere too but no matter what key word I try, all i get is jibberish. Quote

mousekakat Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Going nuts on this side of the pond, too. Mr is working on the code, I found the förbannade moth... yes, I reverted to Swedish since cursing in English isn't allowed, lol! URGH!!!! gonna drive us nuts and it's almost bedtime here!! Quote
mousekakat Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I was thinking vigenere too but no matter what key word I try, all i get is jibberish. We tried it, too, but the problem is that the keyword obviously has the letters moscow in it, but there are two o's, so you don't know what or where or how many in what order to use... resulting in a LOT of different combinations possible!! Someone requested my password, which came to me and not them. Someone clicked the "forgot password" link on photobucket, attempting to get in to my account. I don't know it was advertant or inadvertant. That's what I was referring to. Quote
