How much memory is needed?

I'd like to eventually get Topo and City Nav and I'm curious how many and what size memory cards would you folks suggest?

That kind of depends on how large the area is the you cache in. If you do not travel hundreds of mile from home you can get by with a small card. ..

 

Then again with memory cards as cheap as they are now, just buy a large one and be done with it.

The guys at Offroute recommended a 2gb card. I purchased one and found that the entire USA and Canada from the 2004 version of City Navigator fit on the card (required 1.564gb). It took about 3 hours to load everything. So, now I can go anywhere in North America and find a place to eat... The downside is, if you search for a place by name, many, many listings show up in the display.

I find caching to be somewhat like childbirth, the smaller the memory, the better.... nettles, geostripes to the new car, scrapes, bumps, bruises, cursing, 4 terrain that was rated a 2, horseflies, skeeters, noseeums...

 

Oh, wait... you were talking for your GPS'r? Oops, sorry, can't help much there, lol!
