Sorry, I know this is really for GSAK, but can't get past home page on GSAK and I lollygagged around and now time to get this sorted out is LIMITED!!!!! TIA, Geckolovers Quote Link to comment
Cracker.
Sounds like you need to check out the GSAK and cachemate forums, or email the owners for this one. I would say this question should be already posted somewhere on their respective forums. Actually, I just did a search of the GSAK forum and came up with this: http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=5581 http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=5637 http://www.smittyware.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=422 http://www.smittyware.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=404 http://www.smittyware.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=179 http://www.smittyware.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=88 Edited July 28, 2007 by Cracker. Keystone
Yes, it really is a support question for the respective developers of those programs. But since you're in a hurry, rather than closing your thread I am moving it to the GPS Units and Software forum, where you are more likely to receive fast and correct answers. Quote Link to comment
+LostPuppy
From the GSAK web site: 14. I want to use GSAK on my laptop as well, do I have to buy another registration? The license agreement which you accept when installing GSAK does explain this (Yea, I know, who reads that rubbish) but I would just like to make it clear. The GSAK license is for the USER and not the computer. This means you can install and register it on your desktop, laptop, work computer (providing you have permission) etc. It is not only OK to do this, I actively encourage it. One of the main reasons for the backup/restore feature was so you could transfer GSAK data/settings between computers. This may be at odds with other license agreements, but I just don't think it fair you have to pay for the software on each computer YOU use.So if you are a bit geeky, and like me have 5 computers, then by all means install and register on all 5 without an ounce of guilt However, This does not mean you can use your license key on your friend's/relative's computer so he/she can use it. +Miragee
As I understand it, you can get five registration numbers when you purchase Cachemate. So, if you upgrade your PDA and use a different user name on that one, you can get another registration number for Cachemate so it will work on that PDA. If you use the same user name on your PDAs, you don't need more than the one registration number. Quote Link to comment

TIA, Geckolovers I would have to double check but I seem to remember that GSAK allows you to load on multiple computers, but only you are allowed to run it. Ahh yes, here is that information from Clyde's support area: Use the registered version of GSAK on more than one computer? The GSAK license agreement allows you to use your serial number on more than one computer. For more information please Please see item 14 or the GSAK FAQ in the help file or online here http://gsak.net/help/hs1070.htm As for CacheMate, you load it on your PDA, so you don't really run it on the laptop. The larger problem you may have to be able to sync the PDA to your new computer. If you are using a Palm, then you will need to install Palm Desktop on the new computer, and make sure that the sync is all setup. Quote Link to comment
+Team_LPD
I run GSAK on my laptop as well as my desktop, no problems at all. Cachemate goes on your PDA. Don't know if you can put it on two PDA's though. Quote Link to comment
+Geckolovers
Thanks for all the answers and especially thanks for the links. Using them, I can access GSAK, but still can't get into the site thru the front door. I am wondering if it is my firewall or something.. Anyhow, thanks for all your help and hopefully I can get all my ducks in a row over the next few days. Geckolovers Quote Link to comment
