Ble68
I have missed out on the mega events and they sound like a lot of fun! Can anyone tell where and when is the next one? I have to start making plans!! Quote Link to comment
Landsharkz
I get a mail message once a week from Groundspeak that lists all mega events worldwide, regular events in the provinces and states close to me and all new caches my area that week. Also listed are links to Groundspeak and geocaching related news items. You can also look at the event calendar which I think is linked from the home page on gc.com. The next biggies that I know of are going to be GW6 on Memorial Day weekend 2008 in California and Rendevous Quebec 2008 in August in Quebec City. Quote Link to comment

Damenace
For all of you that went to any geowoodstock is it worth going the distance!! You make it worth it!! You don't go to show up and then head home, you have to make it an adventure!! Only you can determine if it is worth it or not based on what else you plan on doing while going there. while you are are there and what you plan to do on the way back home ( that is if you drive ). +islander1988
For all of you that went to any geowoodstock is it worth going the distance!! YES!!! Me and 5 other cachers piled in a vehicle and drove a day and a half to get to GW5, caching all the way. We took in the events, cached a bunch in the local area, and then spent another day and a half caching all the way home. And we'd all love to do it again! I'm looking forward to my next chance to go to a mega event, which will probably either be MWGB or Quebec next year (I'm definitely going to Quebec if nothing prevents it). I'd love to go to GW6, but being in Atlantic Canada it would be an expensive trip with flights & all. Quote Link to comment

tsunrisebey
GeoWoodstock VI Thanks for posting that! I had no idea the event was already posted! I'm researching driving/flying options today. For anyone reading this and familiar with the area; can I camp on the grounds, are there facilities there? I tried reading the local caching links (threads) but either didn't find anything useful or denied access to looking at them Wooohoooo another excuse to make a coin but NOT an event coin Are there any Roadhouses or places to go two-steppin? I'm a loser, I know Can't wait until May, my first Mega! tsun Quote Link to comment
Landsharkz
Rendez-vous Québec 2008 - The International Geocachers Rendez-Vous This is the event that islander1988 is referring to that is happening in Quebec City, QC, Canada. This event has the potential to be Canada's first Mega Event Their pre-registration list is almost half way to mega status and we are still the only folks from BC on it - hopefully that will change soon! The committee will respond to email queries in either French or English. We have logged our intent to attend and are already brainstorming the 'Landsharkz go to Quebec City for their 400th birthday geocaching event' geocoin! It will be bilingual of course .
