Smart Phones SPV 500 MMN & Way points

Has anyone found a way to export data from MM on the PC to MMN running on a windows mobile smart phone. You can manually enter waypoint one by one directly into the phone, but not complete a bulk import as under a windows mobile (PDA) setup.

 

My thoughts are that it may be possible to manually copy an overlay file to the phone.... but what format and where do I save it?

 

Any ideas any one?

I use the SPV M700 and all that I do is:-

 

1. Load the waypoints into MM on the PC.

 

2. Connect the SPV to the PC via ActiveSync.

 

3. Select "PDA" on the MM toolbar on the PC and then select "Export data to PDA"

 

Give that a try

That works Ok for me using my PDA too - but the spv 500 runs windows mobile (2003se) for smartphones and this function is not supported in the software. Thanks for the suggestion though.

"I don't know" is the short answer.

 

can you access the file system on the smart phone? If so look for a file called something like userdata.mmo, at least that's the filename for PPC, maybe it's similar? The 'send data to PDA' option appear to create this file on the PDA is the same way as an MMO export on the PC.

 

I find it very odd they left out this very useful functionality.

Thanks rutson - it does export to phone as userdata.mno - but does not create overlays. Checked MM web site and it appears that this function is not available on a smart phone.
