Difficulty and terrain ratings

I have found many caches where the terrain/difficulty ratings are either much higher than I experienced, or much lower. Setting such ratings is very subjective. I think it would be a good idea if they allowed users to rate what they think the difficulty/terrain should be after finding it. So when you log a cache as Found It, there could be a drop down for a difficult and terrain rating. And then the average user rating for terrain/difficulty could be shown at the top of the main page representing all those who found the cache. I think this would produce a more accurate rating overall.

Then when you post your find...add a comment in your entry saying what you believe the rating / difficulty should be.

 

I have lowered some of my cache ratings and raised another based on comments.

 

What I think a "5" is...others may think it is a "1"....and visa versa (or something like that).
