newbie question - which gps to buy from onecall?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to geocaching and I'm interested in buying a GPS system off of onecall.com This is because the GPS must be from onecall because I have gift certificates there.

However, I'm not sure which one to get. The problem i'm facing is that I want a road GPS unit that will also allow me to input lat/long coordinates to geocach. From what I've been told, its essential that I buy a unit that has this feature in order to geocach.

Do any of the road units allow this? Do any of the units offered on this website allow it?

I tried asking support and reading the unit descriptions, but I couldn't find any answers.

Here is the website: http://www.onecall.com/ProductSearch.aspx?...all=1&N=403

Any info and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I would get this one... http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=84950

It's the Garmin Legend. Pretty popular for geocaching.

Welcome, enjoy and good luck!!!!!

Is it possible to geocach with any of the road/vehicle GPS devices though?

If not I may just get both, thanks for the response.

Possible, but I've really only seen one higher end unit that has the features you'd want while geocaching off the road.

It is entirely possible to get something along the line of a Garmin MAP60Cx , but garmins mapping software, and use it for road guidance too. It would lake voice prompts and a touch screen, but it 'could' be done, and is pretty often.

I have ones of each style. Car units stay in cars, handheld units go in the field.
