I found this while geocaching at lake buchanan in Texas. It is located right at 30°50'42.54"N / 98°23'6.24"W I can't find it listed it anywhere. It is along CR2341 near Burnet, Tx. Any help would be appreciated!

There is a fairly extensive website maintained by the Lower Colorado River Authority <www.lcra.org>. A cursory flip through it turned up no information on survey markers, but they have a Contact Us page.

Good hunting!

The LCRA benchmark "HARN" (High Accuracy Reference Network) database is located at http://harn.lcra.org/. You can do lookups by PID, County, or USGS Quadrangle. Many of the marks have full scanned datasheets including hand-drawn location diagrams. One such was not available for this mark, LB66. The data that is showing for that mark is as below:

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this is - as I have not been able to find info on it (though still new so maybe haven't looked correctly). Also wondering - what is below the plaque and how would one approach asking someone to remove it so I could see it (and log it).

When I was there in Sept of 2005 the plaque was not attached to the limestone pillar, and was easily moved to one side. There is a disk at the bottom of the pillar. The disk is AJ2515, ZERO MILESTONE RESET in the NGS database. From the NGS datasheet I infer the plaque is not intended to be attached to the pillar.

The plaque may have been the original mark.

A photo of the disk is posted with my log for HX3044.
