Can't download waypoints to GPS

Hello. I have a Garmin eTrex Legend CX and have installed the software, downloaded latest plugins/drivers from the Garmin website, and still can't download coordinates for caches from the web. The popup box says Sorry we only support Garmin, etc... When I do the testpage for the plugin on the Garmin site, nothing really happens except in the bottom bar it says Error on page, then Done.

 

Help.........please.

I have the same problem with my father-in-law's Garmin 60CSx. I've tried both Firefox 2 and IE 7 with no luck. I get the same thing at the test page... nothing.

I have the same Garmin. I was able to go to my.gramin.com and download a self extracting file that allowed us to download from my.gramin.com. There is a section on geocaching. I'm not able to download anything from the www.geocaching.com website. I get the same error.

This plugin let you send data to your gps and is compatible with IE6+ and FF1.5+.

 

If it is not working:

1. try to install the latest USB drivers: download here

2. see in the FAQ: visit here.

3. maybe you find a solution on the communicator test page...

 

I know you might have done those things already, but I had the same problem. So I got calm and try again each step. A bit later it worked like a charm :-)

You folks trying to download directly into your GPS?

 

I find it easier to continue to use a third party software like EasyGPS and MapSource.

I have the same GPS unit and have had no problem downloading from the cache page. When you get the message that only Garmin is supported, I trust you then click on the "send to GPS" button. After I do that, another box pops up asking for permission to allow geocache access (or something like that). I click on the ok, and then the initial box says the program is searching for the GPS unit. It takes a few seconds, but then it indicates the transfer was done ok.

What are you getting for messages?
