geoSquid Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 One of my geocoins was in a cache that got muggled in late September, 2006. At that time I changed its name to "STOLEN", and more or less forgot about it. However, this week, it has re-emerged after 282 days in limbo and is moving around again! My thanks to WildWilly who recovered and logged the coin. Quote
6 Feet More Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Thanks for giving hope to all the rest of us who have coins out in the wild that have gone MIA...... Quote
agilefox Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 What's the story? Was it anonymously returned to a cache, found on the ground or what? Inquiring minds want to know... Quote

CachingCoins Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Don't you just love it when that happens! It makes you wonder where they have been & what they have been up to. It has amazed me some that I have, that have turned back up again! Keeps me hopeful & encourages me to keep putting them out. Quote
Degai Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Congrats on getting your geocoin back into circulation, geosquid! Like AgileFox, care to share the story? I have yet to have anything turn up, so maybe there is hope afterall. Quote
Big JohnP Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) Hey, that's great. Maybe the person who had it did'nt know at the time that they could not keep it and now that they found out, might have been shy to say so. Anyway, the good news is it's back in circulation. +hybridgeek Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 CONGRATS GeoSquid!! It's always nice to have a long lost coin return home. I recently was reunited with one of my geocoins that disappeared back in late August as well. It popped back up in the hands of a cacher who let me know where it was. Unfortunately the part of the story about where it was the whole time remains a mystery. Congrats again! I'd be interested in hearing any story you have as well for yours. -hybridgeek (Not trying to hijack the thread up there or anything... just thought I'd share my ray of hope as well) Quote
geoSquid Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 As far as I can tell, it disappeared with a chache shortly after 23 Sep 2006. Just recently, it was picked up by wildwilly - apparently having been anonymously dropped in another cache, a few days ago. Quote
