phil81uk
Hello, I have been looking for a GPS unit which will work on both my PDA and my IBM laptop. I thought this would be easy to find but apparently not! I have a HTC TyTN PDA, and laptop with bluetooth. I don't know much about GPS, so would need help with obtaining the software as well. Thank you Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
Any bluetooth receiver should work. Bluetooth is not device-specific, so most should work together fine. Quote Link to comment
+PocketSierra
As the last poster said, any bluetooth receiver will work. A compact flash one will work with a PCMIA sleeve and driver but a bluetooth one is the better option. I've used BackCountry Navigator on my POcket PC with a bluetooth GPS. I was running some software on the laptop, and it found the bluetooth GPS that was charging nearby without any extra work. Quote Link to comment
+rlridgeway
There are several GPS receivers at www.buygpsnow.com Quote Link to comment
DonRolph
I bought the GPSMAP 60CSx which includes a serial NMEA compatible port. You can purchase the serial cable from Garmin. I have successfully used this on a Palm IIIx and against a laptop computer to interface the Garmin to a variety of DeLorme maps. Quote Link to comment
