Mini Carabiner Pen

I saw a mini carabiner pen in a cache recently and thought it would be the perfect addition to caching equipment. Since it was the only pen in the cache, I didn't take it. I found the pen on the web, but it's only sold in quantity (150+) as promotional item. Does anyone know if this was a geocaching item and it is still available. Here's one supplier.

I wonder how much the item would be without the promotional info/charge. Neat item. Wish i had one. (Although i bet the pen will give out after you have hiked 2 miles to a cache and you have no other pens!)

Call up the promo company and ask them to send you a sample of that item.

 

they will do it, no questions asked. At most you might recieve a catalog or two for the next year.

 

We get samples at work all the time.

I bought a number of these pens for $1 each and use them for swag.

 

They had no lettering on them. They are really nice pens and last a long time.

 

You have to look around for them, and grab them when you can find them.

 

I picked up about 30 of them at a drug store once. I think it was a Walgreens.

 

Recently, I picked up a couple dozen at a Dollar store.

 

Great swag like this is hit or miss. So, when you find them, you gotta buy all you can get your hands on, because they'll be gone next time you look.

Sunset Novelty had a package of 12 for $19.95, delivered, on eBay. I bought a package to use as trade items.

I've been using a pen called Grip by Diplomat. It's a bit under 3.5 inches, and you twist the pen to expose the writing tip (which then tucks back safely inside the pen). It writes smoothly and even upside down. To me, it's the perfect addition to a geo-bag. I was thinking of getting some as some higher end swag.
