PengoFamily
I am going to take a completely different route...I think that 'spot' might be part of a tortoise shell. Maybe?? Maybe?? The back still looks like some kind of maze or aztec or american indian design of somekind. Edited June 6, 2007 by PengoFamily Quote Link to comment
PengoFamily
Ok if it is a butterfly these are the possible breeds that I found with an 'eye spot' on the wings. (probably already mentioned but) -meadow argus -common grass blue -common bown -yellow admiral -peacock butterfly -marsh fritillary -owl butterfly Edited June 6, 2007 by PengoFamily Quote Link to comment

AtwellFamily
Viola! It's a caterpiller on one side, with the eye spot, and on the back side it turns into a butterfly. Kind of like a life cycle? Very cool idea. Quote Link to comment

hdmama2002
I am confused. There is no blue in that picture. Is this a picture of the female and the male is blue? Or maybe the other way around? Quote Link to comment
tadpole379
I am confused. There is no blue in that picture. Is this a picture of the female and the male is blue? Or maybe the other way around? What you see in the picture with the spots is the bottom(underside) of the wings. The top of the wings is a neon blue. Quote Link to comment
