Stolen GPS in Indiana!

Hi! We visited Indianapolis last week and on Wednesday, May 30 we discovered our rental van's window smashed and our handheld GPS unit missing! It's a hand-held Garmin, yellow and black. Such a bummer because my husband really loves geocaching, and we had done a few in Indiana and Ohio over the past week. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a trackable device? Or are we out of luck? Or perhaps someone is in the market for a used one, and might notice ours for resale by a less than savory seller? Any advice? Thanks.

The GPS isn't trackable but if you send Garmin an e-mail they will place it on a stolen GPS list and if it ever gets sent in for repair they will recover it for you.

Watch eBay and ask sellers for serial numbers. You might get lucky, but it would take luck. Sorry for your loss.

sorry to hear about your loss. i hate it when stuff happens that gives indy a sour taste in folks' mouths. that's unfortunate. i hope your luck starts looking up, and you might entertain the thought of coming back sometime! sorry again.
