daviddsims
Guys still brand new to this and have a quick question, all I have is the basic map on my new 60csx but I am going atv riding and would like to make a track of all the places I have been so I can see how to get back and what not. Will I be able to make a map of where I have been or the areas I have been to? If so how do you do this or will I need some better mapping software? Thanks Quote Link to comment

Thanks Sure, but it is somewhat complicated. the easy way is to record your tracklog and save those for later use. The harder but better way is to make a map. You can see a few tutorials here: http://www.geopainting.com/en/Howto.html Quote Link to comment
+imajeep
You don't need mapping software to record a track. Go to the handheld's main menu, select 'Tracks', and turn the track log on at the top of the Tracklogs page. Quote Link to comment

I have a RAM Mount on my Quad. I just turn on the GPS, with track log set to auto and go! What I do is each time I come to a trail junction I simply mark it as a waypoint (2 quick button presses - MARK then ENTER). Then when I get home I divide up the tracks color code them etc.. I do all this with Mapsource. It is a mediocre program but it works If you want I can email you a map I am currently working on so you can get an example. You can also use GPS Visualizer to view your tracks on Google earth! Now that is some cool stuff! I love my 60Cx - best new toy purchased recently --- well aside from the Quad... Where you from? I am in Tax-a-chusetts -Steve Quote Link to comment
