k8fearsnoart
i have discovered that there are some caches within my city, whose descriptions are very familiar... is it okay for me to report on finds? Quote Link to comment
+Roland_oso
If you find a cache post a log. And if you do not find it, post a DNF (Did Not Find) It can be done, but I would suggest at least looking at the various maps to get a visual of the area. Good Luck! Quote Link to comment
+EEeee!
There's no requirement to use a GPS to find caches. If you find it, sign the log and post the find on line. Eventually you'll want to do the GPS thing, though. Quote Link to comment
+team5150
The kids and I have found several caches without the use of our GPSr, aka naked caching. Some of them were in small local parks and we did them without the GPSr just for fun. A couple that we did were in more remote areas and we did them with the use of map and compass, mainly to reaffirm the kids knowledge of orienteering and map skills. In either instance, a find is a find! Quote Link to comment

Did you find the actual cache? Or just get in the general area? If you signed the log, log the find. Quote Link to comment

A GPS is merely a tool that is handy for finding caches. You can swap in other tools like maps, and your brain, and do just fine without a GPS. Good luck. Quote Link to comment

TheTodds
I'm still in the process of buying a GPSr and I've logged my first cache, I'm familiar enough with the area and working it out in my own little noggin to find it. I've made myself a list and found that many many of the caches in my area are GPS required because they're off the beaten paths. I found this website a couple weeks ago from a link on another page and I've been sooooo curious ever since, I can't wait to close the deal on this GPS I found and start getting out and enjoying the warm weather and caching a bit in my spare time. There's SOOOO many in my area, insane! Quote Link to comment
+hukilaulau
This cache is one of two I've found just by thinking, "That looks like a good spot for a cache!" I found it easily and then had to plug in the coords next time I was near a computer to see what it was... Quote Link to comment
