I was curious about this too. I would think it would be allot of fun and add some excitement for FTF geocachers. Matter of fact, I was thinking of doing something similar on my first cache I place. +Theseus
Not against the rules at all. Provided that it isn't commercial or soliciting or food you're pretty much in good shape (see here for more details). I think I put a $20 gift cert to EMS in my last cache. It was a puzzle cache and the FTF (a local legend) managed to find it despite an error in my code! Well deserved prize. Quote Link to comment
crtrue
Now, if it was a $20 gift certificate to a religious bookstore... *runs* Quote Link to comment

+Team Crime Scene
I usually add a James W Barr dollar bill to my Caches. It's not really worth much other than the historic value. I've found Gems (not cut worthy), Gold dollars, hand made items. The best prize for FTF is the smiley.... Quote Link to comment
+rdaines
I've done $10 gift cards. Got feedback on one but not the other. Also tried one of those FTF coins which seemed to go over well. Quote Link to comment
+Team FIREBOY
We usually put a mini-mag flashlight in our caches for the FTF. Goes over pretty well. Quote Link to comment
+CSpenceFLY
I put a few things in my last cache that could have been the FTF prize. One was a set of 4 rechargable batteries and charger. Quote Link to comment
+halffast
FTF certificates are well recieved.I was going to put in a couple for our local movie house so the FTF could catch a movie but if they were not locals they might not have been willing to stay in town for the movie so I put in something else. +Knight2000
Ive got a printed FTF certificate. Although not of any monetary value. Quote Link to comment
+SLO Trekker
I have found that FTF prizes are rare in my area. I like to include one when I place a cache because it makes that first find just a little more special. For those that are highly motivated for that FTF it also adds to the thrill of competition to be the first. I follow a general principle: the harder the cache is to find, the more valuable the prize. Gift certificates are nice, although if the FTF happens to be from out of the area they may not be able to use it. I prefer unactivated geocoins myself. Note that you can still include a prize even when the cache is a micro. One local cacher hid a very tough micro. He placed the FTF prizes in a second container somewhere nearby and included the coords in the micro. FTF got the whole thing, container and all. I do highly recommend that any special FTF item be clearly offered as a prize and not a trade item. Otherwise you might catch the finder off guard with nothing of equal trade value, which places them in an awkward position. Quote Link to comment
