LastGrape Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 When I run a Pocket Query I get e-mailed two files: (where xxx is some number, and the same) xxx.gpx xxx-wpts.gpx What is the second smaller file? Or what is the difference, I'm newly a premium member and just used the first file for paperless caching with BeelineGPS. Quote
Miragee Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The second file contains the "Child Waypoints" for the caches. These might be trailhead coordinates, or parking coordinates, or interesting things to look for along the trail. Quote
Mach2003 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The second file "wpts" contains any marked additional (child) waypoints that relate to the first file. It is in a second file so you can choose to use it or not. Quote
LastGrape Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 A thanks, so it is probably good for me just to open both, especially if I'm in the mood for some multi-caches. Quote
Miragee Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The "Child Waypoints" won't have the coordinates for the waypoints for a Multi-cache. Those you will still have to get as you find them along the route. Quote
LastGrape Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 Some might though? If you have to go to 3 points, see a number at each point, then work out the final location from those numbers. I think I have seen a few of these, and was planning to do that for my first hide. The main waypoint is normally one of the places you have to go to, or a carpark/suggested starting point. Quote
Miragee Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The beginning of the Multi-cache will be in the main PQ file. If there are parking coordinates given for that cache, they will be in the smaller, child-waypoint file. Quote
