+SeventhSon Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I was reading the coin tracking policy, and noticed trackable coins are required to have the text "Trackable on Geocaching.com" or "Track on Geocaching.com" and yet many of the coins use the word "at" in place of "on", including new ones. Obviously this doesn't matter since the coins are being approved, but shouldn't this be mentioned in the policy? Quote
+Aiden's Cachers Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I have seen several variations on coins to make them more themey(word?) Quote
glennk721 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 This was brought up in a old thread I can't locate. Think the most blatent problem could be with this Log Book coin that states Track At GC . com . In the wild it could possibly not be logged correctly or at all. Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 (edited) English is a wonderful language. We have so many to say the same thing that a Brit and an American can tell the same story and not use the same words. Track at geocaching.com Track via geocaching.com Track thru geocaching.com Track on geocaching.com Track utilizing geocaching.com Track with geocaching.com Tracking courtesy of geocaching.com Replace track with watch or Log... Kick in a few more words for at and I'm sure we can say this 100 ways. A little freedom of expression doesn't hurt when it comes to how to say "track this coin here" on your own coins. +Team JSAM Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 (edited) As long as you get the point across that the coin is trackable on geocaching.com then Groundspeak does not seem to mind how you word it, although the coin above with "track at gc.com" is just calling for trouble I would guess those coins go missing all the time in the wild. The problem is - there IS a website gc.com, though it seems to have changed a bit since I started that thread. I have also pointed out a case that was worse in a sense - no website at all - see this thread. Checking such things gives us pedants something to do Quote
