i noticed today that someone had logged a cache twice. usually that would count them as two finds, but it still says the person has the right number of finds. is this a new thing on geocaching.com?

I have one double-log on a cache, and my find count did not drop by one today. So if there's been a change, either it's not retroactive or Jeremy has programmed an all-knowing robot to distinguish "bad" double logs from "good" double logs, and mine was blessed. (The cache was moved, and was an ammo box on a steep hillside the second time I found it, instead of a tupperware along a path the first time.)

We had a newbie double log one of our caches yesterday. It counted 2 finds for him. One log was deleted and the count went back to the correct number. They only had 5 finds so it was pretty easy to see the correct count.

Quite a while ago, I posted a find, when I wanted to write note, on a previously found cache.

When I looked at it a few mins later I noticed my mistake, and corrected the eror.

Strage thing was my count stayed correct through the whole incident. Made me think that double finds were discarded by GC.COM.

Perhaps the site was just a bit behind in updating the stats.

The thread began at 8:15 p.m., Lily Pad time. It's now 4:40 a.m., Lily Pad time. Just when is that "official comment" going to be squeezed in? Sheesh.

Given the nature of the claimed feature change, and the Lily Pad's prior pronouncements on the same subject, I'll be surprised if there ever is an official comment. Maybe I'll be surprised.
