+BornAdventures
After an unsuccessful attempt last time to get the Sandboxes help on the ISS waymark, this time we're trying out luck with the Capetonians. The International Space Station will be passing over Cape Town at 18H46 on Thursday 31 May, three minutes later it will be flying over Jozi's skies. The short description of this Waymarking game is... "This is game that requires two or more players to "catch" the International Space Station as it passes across hundreds of miles in one of its orbits around the globe." It is quite an amazing sight and we really want to get this Waymark crossed off our list, so if anyone is interested in helping us out with this Waymarking game please contact us or post a note on these forums. The Waymarking game can be found here. If you need anymore info on how to spot the ISS go here Many Thanks TeamTGF Quote Link to comment
+bear&fox
Why not? Dispatched an e-mail to TeamTGF... Quote Link to comment
Geoff Ogden
Hi Team TGF Hopefully we will be able to see ISS in P.E. but I don't want to volunteer to loud as I might just forget to go outside. You know the brain being a bit hollow, sometimes I can't even find South unless I have my GPS switched on. Quote Link to comment
+BornAdventures
Thanks Guys! On the 2nd of June there will be another better passing between JHB and CT too. This is what the ground tracks look like for the two passes. 31 May 02 June Anyone near the line will be able to participate in the game, as long as the Alititude of the pass is over 45 degrees. Hopefully there will be more passes so we can get the PE guys to join in as well. Edited May 24, 2007 by TeamTGF Quote Link to comment
Geoff Ogden
Thanks Team Think those passes will be to far West for us, but I'll try. Will certainly keep an eye on this thread. Cheers Quote Link to comment
Geoff Ogden
Hi Team Haven't forgotten tonight - hope the weather clears though as the forecast is for cloudy to overcast. Quote Link to comment
Geoff Ogden
OK that was a total wash out - cloud cover pulled in at about 18:20 and by 18:40 I could no longer even see the moon. Bummer!! Quote Link to comment
+LeonW
Did not forget, but live got somehow in the way. At 18:50 I were actually at the KFC at Gift Acre's in Pretoria when I remembered. Got out of the car with two daughters and could see the ISS as a bright object in the northern sky, even through some cloud cover. Even brighter than an aircrafts lights. Thanks for the heads up. +BornAdventures
We got it and so did B&F, but will only log the waymark over the weekend. Thanks for all the help in getting this waymark ticked off the list. Quote Link to comment
+BornAdventures
We've created our waymark for the JHB sighting, it can be found here Thanks to Bear&Fox and everyone else that helped us with this waymark! Quote Link to comment
