nobby.nobbs
just take the bike and you have no problem... it's healthier and better for the environment until you've done all the near ones and would need to ride 20 miles to just find the first cache you haven't done yet..... partly i'm not that fit and partly i haven't got that much time! +teald024
I have not decided to do any less caching due to the rising prices, but I don't have to go too far out yet to still find available caches. An example: Caching trip = 100 miles driving (rarely to go this far) Milage = 20 MPG (mine gets 25) this means 5 gallons used (assuming no idling). Last month $2.999 for a gallon costing $15.00 for the trip I paid $3.159 for a gallon on Thursday costing $15.80 for the trip. So realistically I only paid an extra $0.80 for the day. I hate paying more today than I did yesterday for something, but it really is not that much more. You could always car pool to caches or wait to do caches in one area at once. Quote Link to comment
+ve1bvd
You'll pardon the sarcasm, but my heart bleeds for you folks who drive gas-guzzling SUVs & 4WDs. Gas here in Nova Scotia is currently $1.21 CAD per litre. Let's see...at 3.78 litres to the US gallon, that's $4.57 CAD per US gal. Oops, I forgot! Our dollar is only worth $.925 US, so that's $4.23 US per US gal. I guess that at those prices, no one up here should be caching, unless it's for urban micros that we can walk to... ve1bvd Quote Link to comment

It costs me about $7.00 to go into town to run my errands, get groceries, and fill up my tank with gas. Two years ago, that trip to town cost about $4.50. I know few people whose income has increased enough to make up that difference. Quote Link to comment
