DMB In Noblesville, IN--possible weekend cache?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Well I have been recently addicted to geocaching and am trying to find every possible way to incorporate it into everything that I do, plus it is an excellent way to get out and see the areas that I travel. Here in about 2 months I am going to be going to the Verizon Music Center in Noblesville, IN and am thinking about setting up a weekend Cache at my camp site (just as a way to meet others at the Concert)...I am curious is anyone has ever set up a cache? Do I just post the coordinates when I arrive and post it online?

I have also noticed that there are a bunch of cache's in the area and maybe I can get some people together to go and find a few!

Let me know if anyone out there is going to be in the area, and what I would have to do to get a weekend cache going! Thanks a lot!

Happy Caching! <_<

Setting up an event cache at the Dave concert would probably not be the best idea. You would have to pay to go to the event (the 7 or so bucks Verizon would charge just for parking), and unless it is some public park system, they probably wouldn't allow it. If I were there, it's for the partying in the parking lot and the show, not for geocaching that night!

I'd say enjoy the concert and go to an event the weekend after.

They being Verizon? I'm not sure.

I see where Kenner is coming from. As long as getting to the cache is free and available then I dont see why that would be a bad idea. If I was in the area, I would go to the event cache regardless of if I was seeing Dave Mathews or not.

However I can also see where Herd is coming from in that event caches are designed to unite cachers. Kenner parking and camping at a parking lot for a concert and leaving a log book open for a few days for a cacher to walk by is not exactly planning an event centered around caching or an attempt to unite cachers other than Kenner uniting with cachers.

I can see both sides. I think this goes up to the caching elders and caching "rules" (if there are any on this subject).

I think in the end, Kenner interprets "event cache" to mean "geocaching centered around an event" whereas Herd interprets "event cache" to mean "event centered around geocaching". I wonder if the rules suggest either way. I wonder if the experienced cachers suggest either way.
