Cachemate Question

Recommended Posts

I've set cachemate so when I log a find it makes an entry for that cache in the "Found" category.

This is really nice.

Then I'd mark the dnf's with a mark in the bookmark box.

When I moved all the bookmarked caches to the "not found" category, I discovered that all

the entries in the found category had been deleted !!!

Did I do something wrong?

Does a person have to choose which feature they like best?

thx

YIKES! That's not good.

I've never used the Bookmark feature. If I DNF a cache, I move it to the Found folder, but of course I write DNF in the notes field, along with other details of the search.

Hopefully. someone who is really knowledgeable will come along to help.

Well, I was unable to reproduce what you had happen. I too have cachemate set up that it moves any record that I mark "found" on the log screen to the Found category.

I bookmarked a bunch of caches I had never even looked for.

I went to search - bookmarks to bring up all the caches I had bookmarked.

I click on the first one, choose move, and "not found"

repeat for the others.

In the end, I still has all my caches in the "found" category, and all the ones I just "moved" in the "not found" category.

This is CacheMate 4.1.2 on a Palm TX. What version/platform are you using?

When you move the bookmarked items to "Not Found", I believe this also automatically changes your current view to that category, making it appear that the "Found" items have disappeared. If you set the view back to "All" (or "Found") you may find that the records are still there after all.
