Time Zone Detection

I know my profile has a setting for the time zone I am in so why does the website consistently have the wrong date as the default for logging a cache find? I am in Australia and invariably, the date is one day behind which catches me out when I am in a hurry.

I've often wondered the same thing. Japan is always defaulted to the day before also.
