South Korea GPS Options?

I have a Garmin GPSMap 60CS. As far as I can tell there are no detail/street maps of South Korea--only the very low quality WorldMap. There is some third party company in Korea that has maps, but all the info is in korean and i don't even know if they would work with a unit bought here.

 

Are there any street maps for a gps unit (or PDA) for South Korea that are in English (and aren't too expensive)? I was hoping for something pocket sized--I'm sure I could use my laptop, but that's no fun.

 

Any suggestions appreciated.

You can always use a GPS with a paper map, if one is produced.

 

I use my GPS overseas and always use paper maps - much less hassel

Good idea. Does anyone know how I can obtain maps of South Korea (especially Seoul and surrounding area) with GPS coordinate?

My only experance is with European maps - they usually have a grid marked on them which corrosponds to one in the GPS or looking at the outer edge there is a Long and Lat printed. Sorry I can't give you any details about Asia.

You may find what you need here and the info seems current. I lived in So. Korea for a little over a year but that was over 10 years ago. Things are very busy in Seoul it would have been helpful to have a GPS.

GPS is very big in Korea now, but as you said, it's mostly in Korean, for Koreans. All I can suggest is Google. It finds almost everything I need.
