Creating and loading POI files onto Vista CX

Recommended Posts

Hi

Please can someone give (or link to) a step by step guide to how I can create around 50 POIs and load them onto my Vista CX (which has garmin topo gb loaded with the associated POIs. I have 2 2GB memory card)

On my PC I have Mapsource software and have just downloaded and installed POI loader

This is hopefully simple to do but I think I might just be being thick! I have created my POIs as waypoints and can add them that way but I really want them as POIs.

Many thanks!

Make sure all the Waypoints you want as POIs are in the same MapSource file. You can open multiple instances of MapSource if needed and copy and paste between them.

Then save the file as a GPX. Click File, Save As..., the select GPX as the file type.

Then put that GPX file in a folder all by itself on your PC. Call the folder My POI or something like so you will remember it.

Then connect your GPSr to your PC, be sure it's in Mass Storage Mode, and run POI Loader.

Be sure to "point" POI Loader to the FOLDER where you placed your file.
