+Will+Bill
We are caching in Ireland this summer (Wo-Ho!), and want to buy maps for our eTrex Vista. I was looking on eBay, and there seems to be a product called City Navigator, and another product called MetroGuide. Price doesn't matter much, because I can just sell it again after our trip. Is there anyone here that has a copy of compatible software they would like to sell to other Geocachers? Quote Link to comment

CN is not resellable in the normal sense, as the unlock codes are tied to your GPRr. MG is resellable. Quote Link to comment
strumble
The cheapest is MetroGuide Europe v9 [no other MetroGuide has reasonable road coverage] MetroGuide will have to be 'manipulated' for autorouting! You cannot re-sell CityNavigator. Edited May 7, 2007 by strumble Quote Link to comment
passdump
Here are some free topo maps for Ireland. I am new to GPS and geocaching so I haven't been able to try them yet... the sites seem reputable. Oh yeah if you are buying maps for Ireland make sure they are NavTeq V9. Ireland had been poorly mapped before V9 maps. Enjoy you holiday! Free TOPO: http://www.mountainviews.ie/features/gps/G...dPartyMaps.html http://www.mountainviews.ie/features/gps/G...PSDownload.html and http://emeraldisland.free.fr/wikka/wikka.php?wakka=GpsMap NavTeq V9: If you are interested (and have the time) an Irish radio show did a piece on the quality of GPS maping in January 2007. You can check it out here: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/quantum/rams/2007/18january.smil You need real player. Fast forward to 8min 17sec for the bit on GPS maps in Ireland. Quote Link to comment
rwolf
I used Metro guide V8 for my trip to Ireland last summer and it was great. It had all the roads and POI's I needed. Although the road signs showing directions to towns over there is way better than here in the States. We drove from Kinsale up the West coast to Galway then to Donegal. To get back to Kinsale we drove back through the middle. Beautiful country, enjoy your trip!! Quote Link to comment
