+prntr1 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 A few months ago I came up with an idea for a coin to celebrate completing a State Delorme Challenge. After contacting several Delorme Cache owners, and Delorme for permission, I had Gridlox do up some art and sent it out to the various cache owners, after several renditions, corrections, changes etc.... we came up with what I thought was pretty nice. At that time I turned it over to Steve at Hogwild for minting and distribution. I hope you like it. Version one below is for general sale Delorme Challenge Coin If you have actually completed a challenge, you can order a personalized coin here Delorme Challenge Completion Coin The coin stats are listed on the respective pages. +AtlantaGal Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I got 2 of the standard coins when they hit the cart. I think Cym and I still have 30+ grids to complete Georgia. So it will be a loooooonnnngggg time on the other one Quote
+fairyhoney Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 We, up and over here have 99 to fulfill whice includes some pricey ferry boat rides But I want to do it the best I can Quote
+GPX Navigators Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Thanks prntr1 and hogswild for this coin. I had inquired about a DeLorme coin some months back and was told you were working on it. Looks great. This will make a terrific FTF prize for the DeLorme we set up in our state. More great swag for the cache. We think some will come as close as they can to completing the Challenge this summer. Now to get some caches into those empty grids. Or maybe we just need more people in those grids. Quote
WI_Robin Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 23 pages to go for me. Hopefully the gold coin will still be for sale by the time I finish!! Quote
+Team Honeybunnies Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Our gold for the Wisconsin challenge is being engraved as we speak. One thing I haven't heard mentioned is whether this will be an open run, making this available as others complete the challenge. We're considering starting other states, and it would be nice to have the carrot on a stick . It would never be as popular as the milestone coins, but I believe the interest is there... Quote
+HolyCowboys Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 A very cool coin. We will have to order a gold coin right away since we just completed the Pennsylvania DeLorme cache this month. Quote
+climbstuff Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I just found a silver one for sale on ebay. A quick google search led me to this thread and hogwild. Thanks for putting this project together! I just ordered two Gold Coins for FTF in Virginia and FTF in Colorado! Quote
+arkfiremedic Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Greetings, Several years ago I got your Delorme Challenge Coin for completion of Arkansas. Several years ago I finished up Louisiana and would like one for it as well. Do you know if these are made anymore? Thank you in advance. arkfiremedic Quote
