+Seasider
The day when supply outstrips demand and the FTF cachers can't even be bothered dashing out anymore is when the problems begin. I've just started caching again after a long break and it's great to see oodles of good caches from new cachers (new to me) in my neck of the woods which has got my interest again and will keep me busy for a while. Seasider Good to see you are around again John - welcome back, I look forward to seeing lots of logs from you! Cheers John, although I've got a dodgy knee at the moment so I won't be chasing the leading pack just yet! Cheers! Seasider Quote Link to comment

dpstevens
I was thinking of starting a new thread but on checking back I found this. As a family we have been caching for just over six years. We've not really set the caching world alight with our 73 finds in that time. Similarly we are not rampant posters on the forum - the last was over five years ago. Today the missus pointed out something I've been thinking for a long time. The quality of caches has really deteriorated. I'm not talking about micro caches in general. I like micro caches in interesting locations. However there are plenty that aren't. It is also the large caches that seem poor (cheap Christmas crackers) compared to the ammo boxes with interesting swaps that we used to find. In future I think we will have to very carefully read the logs as well as the cache descriptions before setting out to find a cache. We will have to be more blunt than diplomatic when writing logs. Also we will have to be careful when placing our next cache! Sorry to return to the forum with a whinge! Dave PS The missus is less diplomatic than me, she says the countryside is littered with lots of small rubbish bins Quote Link to comment
+The Bongtwashes
I think we should probably be glad we don't have events like THIS, there appear to be 106 caches set for this event. I'm sure there may be a lot of very good caches amongst them, but I'm equally sure there must be a fair amount of poor caches. Quote Link to comment

The largest No set for a UK Event that I'm personally aware of is 82 for Gathering In The Glens 2-Return to the Glen Caches were being submitted several months before the event for publishing at the same time [i even got timed on how long it took to publish all of them ] Quote Link to comment

Having just had a peek at the event page they seem to be charging a $5 "registration" fee, and the page is littered with commercial adverts, I though neither of these were allowed.
