+yawetag
I received a Garmin eTrex Vista. Upon turning the unit on, I noticed the date was incorrect. It's currently showing 04-JAN-25. Any ideas on fixing this problem? Quote Link to comment

Any ideas on fixing this problem? Get outside and let it "bake" under the satellites for 20 minutes or so. When it gets a solid lock it will automatically update the date and time. +big rick
Have you checked to make sure you have it set up for the correct time zone and daylight savings time? Quote Link to comment
+yawetag
Have you checked to make sure you have it set up for the correct time zone and daylight savings time? Okay. Fixing Daylight Savings fixed the time, but still showing incorrect date. Does "05-JAN-25" mean January 25, 2005; or January 5, 1925? Edited for small grammar error. -Oz-
that means January 5, 1925 or January 5, 2025. One of those two. So the format is DD-MMM-YY Edited April 8, 2007 by -Oz- Quote Link to comment

Older Garmins didn't get the Daylight savings time patch. For part of the year it will be 1 hour off unless they do patch it. As for the date I'd try a hard reset of the GPS and then let it bake. Hopefully that will fix it. You will need google what it's going to take to do a hard reset. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
Hold the "up" and "enter" keys and then press the "on/off" button to reset the Vista. You will receive a warning prompt. You can avoid this message using the sequence "Page" plus "Enter" plus "Up" and then press the "on/off" button. Hold the keys down for 5 seconds to perform the reset. More here. Quote Link to comment
