+Simply Paul Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 A final DING! for the newcomer. Well done harryhotspur - Over to you for the next 'pub quiz' level question. Just to recap the rules (which I'm not suggesting have been broken!) - There's no online searching for answers, but you can ask friends. They (or you) can check books, but not look online for you. Looking on geocaching.com for caching-related questions (there have been some!) is ok though. Quote

+Dorsetgal & GeoDog Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I'd concur. I think she is interred in the family crypt in Buenos Aires ... with her less than "handy" husband! (Someone nicked his hands). I have no dea what the cemetery is called though ... Quote

Ding there, it is quite an emotional place as some of the site is really well kept but some is run down with cats running in and out of the tombs Sorry could have said laid to rest in her burial vault I think you would still use the term buried though. +Ten point nine Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The modern Olympics started in Athens 1896 with 9 sports. 1. How many 'sports' were represented in Athens 2004 2. What was the total number of 'events'. Quote
+Dorsetgal & GeoDog Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The summer Olympics is currently (by rule) 28 sports, but that translates to considerably more events. Some sports only have one or two events, e.g. the marathon, has one ladies race, one mens race, but other sports have considerably more than two events. Sheer guess at 200 events? Quote

+kbootb Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 This looks like fun... how long would it take us to name all the sports (no googling). If it were my quiz I'd only allow one sport per person to stop some clever whatsit naming all 28 (assuming Dorsetgal is correct, and who am I to doubt). I've chucked in swimming....next? But then again it's not my quiz. Quote
