The All New All New Groundspeak UK Pub Quiz

Given it's the best selling UK album ever I'll go for Queen's Greatest Hits by Queen.

Nope, but you're right, that is the best selling UK album. (approx 5.4 million copies and counting)

Hmm I can think of a few probables. How about Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd)

That's the longest record by a group ever to appear in the UK charts (211 weeks)

I'll guess Bat out of hell, by Meatloaf,

That's the longest charting album by a male artist (244 weeks and never higher than number 9 in the charts).

Carry on up the Charts, Beautiful South?

Nope.

Was it by a rather odd-looking US artist by any chance?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Depends who you are thinking of?

Does this mean its a female solo artist then? maybe Madonna?

"Bridge over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel ??

Failing that, something by the Beatles?

It's a big DING to Dorsetgal or GeoDog depending which one guessed it.

And I never got to use my clue. There are 98 caches worldwide called Bridge Over Troubled Water(s). That must make it one of the most popular names for a cache.

Ah, the hunch paid off.

Saw the Garfunkel half with his son at Hampton Court Palace music festival last year, fantastic ... very intimate concert held in the Base Court, the drummer and some of the band even came off stage afterwards to meet us ... well ok, he spotted GeoDog and his sister Penny (also a working dog) in the audience and came off stage to meet them! All we could do was sit by kinda like chaperones, they (the dogs) were who the band wanted to meet!!

Anyways, onwards ...

This week I walked (well ok, rolled) through this place while caching,

where is it?

just one more to go! Who is going to get it for the ding?

BIG clue, the organisation is based in Sheffield.

It's the National Union of Mineworkers.

No, wait a minute. That was the blind leading the blind, wasn't it??

DING! to Simply Paul!

The five organisations that train Registered Assistance Dogs in the UK are

Only dogs from these organisations have free and full public access when working in the UK.

Yes, sorry. Real life got in the way there for a while.

WITHOUT using a calculator, or other electonic device (an abacus is ok) what is 1200 miles per hour in feet per second? Go!

1200 miles/hour = (1200/60) = 120/6 = 20 miles/minute

=20/60 = 1/3 miles/second

1 mile =1760 yards = 1760 * 3 feet = 5280 feet.

5280/3 = 1760 feet/second :o

Ding! And a house point for showing workings-out :(

Thanks - My A-level maths teacher drilled into us "always show your working" and I still can't help it!

Next question - What were the full names of Doctor Who's original 3 companions back in 1963 (one of the names is an alias)?
