+pdxmarathonman
I used one for 2 or 3 years before recently upgrading. It is a great unit (the newer systems have much better reception, but the GPS V was top of the line when it was released). Quote Link to comment
+SgtSue
I used one for quite awhile then got a new unit to carry "into the field" while I left the Garmin V in the car for turn by turn directions to the cache site. Just upgraded at Christmas but only because wanted a new toy, the V was (and is) still going strong. Quote Link to comment

I have had a GPSV for years and it is an excellent piece of kit! If you follow the link to the Garmin site as suggested you can download the manual (Link on left hand side of page) and have a read up before using. Enjoy! Quote Link to comment
+Team-Monroe
Just picked a used one to see if I could use it..lol...Did a search and found this topic, I know it's old but thought i would give it a shot. When I put the location of the cache, do I enter it as a waypoint? Also once I get to the spot, is N W active as I walk about? Hope I asked this question right..... Thank You Mark Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Yes, a waypoint. If you enter manually, make sure the datum is set to WGS84. You can also transfer caches from a computer directly if you have a cable. I do not understand your second question. Quote Link to comment
