smokingpipe
How do you get the degree symbol when typing in coordinates in text or word? I've been using the * for degrees but I notice people using the real thing. How? Quote Link to comment
+Team RAGAR
Hold down the "Alt" key and type "0176", that will give you the "°" symbol. Quote Link to comment
smokingpipe
Nothing happening for me. Could it be the keyboard setting or something? How did you get it to work in this window? Same code...? Edited March 5, 2007 by smokingpipe Quote Link to comment
+cache_test_dummies
You have to type the number on the numeric keypad rather than using the number keys on the regular keypad. Quote Link to comment
nonaeroterraqueous
...ah, but remembering the number is an°ther matter. Quote Link to comment
smokingpipe
Tried that way but evertime I get to the "7", my home page loads up. Now I have to try and find out where to change that so I can use that feature. This is really bugging me now. It will probly work on my desktop but not on this brand new laptop. I have to hold down a "FN" key to use the number pad, which is color coded. So I can do 3 things on 1 key. So I tried holding down "FN" & "ALT" and typed 0176. But it leaves this page to go to my home page. I'm going to freak. Edited March 5, 2007 by smokingpipe Quote Link to comment
+cache_test_dummies
If you are on a laptop and have to use the Fn key, you might also have to have your 'Num Lock' key set in order to fully enable the numeric keypad feature. Quote Link to comment

+rjb43nh
A real easy way is to just cut-and-paste a degree symbol from the coordinates listed near the top of every cache listing page. On a windows based PC highlight the degree symbol by pressing the left mouse button as you drag the cursor across the degree symbol, then press 'CTRL C' to copy the ° symbol. then position the cursor where you want the ° symbol and press 'CTRL V'. You can also paste it into e-mails or any other place you need it. Oh, in Word, on the tool bar go to 'INSERT', 'SYMBOL', select the degree symbol ° by highlighting it and click on 'INSERT'. X-isle
Checkin' it out....nope.....nope.....°, well the copy and paste thing works, which means there is a code in this keyboard somewhere. Quote Link to comment
