Zoom Range to View Points Of Interest

I would like to know how to alter the zoom range at which points of interest show up on the screen. I have loaded some local points of interest, resturants, hotels, etc. While using the new POI loader, I selected to alert me when 300 ft away.

 

The alerts work - I get a red message and a beep when I get close. While looking at the screen, the POIs only show up when on the 300 ft zoom range. Not at 500 ft, or 120 ft. I would like them to show up on the 800 ft range. They are round balls.

 

I did not think there was a connection between range for the alert and zoom range but maybe there is. Are they related?

 

I looked at Setup/Map Setup/Points and all the 4 options were set to Auto. I changed them all to 800 ft, but still the POIs only show up at 300 ft.
