Here is a new coin that will be offered for sale or trade at the upcoming MOGA 2007 - Midwest Open Geocaching Adventure GCYJ1T at Mark Twain Lake, Monroe City, Missouri on March 23, 24 and 25, 2007. If there are any left after that they will be offered for sale to others.

 

Let me know your interest. The icon is already posted at http://www.geocaching.com/track/geocoin.aspx click on all geocoin designs and look for "The Missouri Hawthorn"

Jim Canning (Castleman) is doing this coin.

 

There will be 750 black nickel for sale or trade and 250 gold for activation and release in the wild. They will be offered for sale or trade and discounted for 5 and 10 packs.

 

Hopefully this will put more coins in circulation like we have with the Kansas Sunshine.

 

This coin is really a tribute to my Missouri geocaching friends.

 

I live in Kansas and work in Missouri.

Nice coin but I don't plan on being at MOGA to get one of these. I hope you made plenty of these so I can get a 10 pack form you after the event.

 

Hopefully there will be some left. I will make you first on the list.

The family and I will be attending MOGA and I was wondering if both the metals will be up for sale...I'm not quite clear about what you meant in regards to the gold issues.

 

Also...any idea about price?

 

Also again...LOL...what day will they be sold...on the main day Saturday?

I will be unable to attend the event, but would love to be on the list to get some of these (5 pack if possible) afterwards!

 

I am all for getting more coins out in circulation...

 

What are the dimensions of this coin, is it a micro like the Kansas Sunshine?

I go to eat dinner and all these postings! :laughing: Well let's see if I can answer the questions first.

 

Yes, this is a 1" diameter micro coin so it will fit in those pesky microcaches and spice them up a bit.

 

The black nickel are for sale and trade but the GOLD ones are for the wild and will ALL be activated and released. None will be sold or traded! None. Nada. Zip. They will ALL be FREEEEEEEEEEE!!! :P

 

I will probably continue the Kansas Sunshine tradition of sending one of the activated GOLD ones to YOU with your order for 10 or more and if possible name it after you. That way you can take it with you from cache event to cache event and let other people discover it or you can log it in and out of the caches you visit or set it free and watch it on your watch list as it travels around the world spreading joy and happiness in the geocaching community.

 

So far I have released about 400 Kansas Sunshine in this manner! 400! They are everywhere. Just today I saw a log for one in Iraq and several in Australia and Europe not to mention many in the USA. They are everywhere. And that is just the ones I have set free. There are hundreds more that have been released by the people who purchased 5 and 10 packs.

Pricing for individuals and sets?

 

Pricing will be the same as for the 2007 Kansas Sunshine:

 

1-4 geocoins $6.50 each plus $2 S&H

5pack $29.95 plus $3 S&H

10pack $49.95 plus $4 S&H

 

There will be no S&H at MOGA, since it will not require envelop, postage, paypal fees and gas to drive to the post office.

 

So less than $5ea if you get a ten pack at MOGA!!! :P

 

I will be there with a big box of coins and a couple of rolls of nickels.

 

Look for the Green Jeep. JPVQVQ I will be driving it and sleeping in it.
