ForsdykeFinders
Just spotted that you can buy wifi adapter cards that go into the SD slot on your PDA. ie making a non wifi PDA able to link to a wireless network. They are incredibly small and most seem to be made by Spectec. They seem to be around £25-£30 inc postage on Ebay etc. Has anyone tried one? Are they any good? Thinking of trying one in the Mio 350 as was a tight wad and didnt go for the Wifi enabled P550. Quote Link to comment
mongoose39uk
Yup got one I picked up for £20 inc p&p on ebay. Works fine. Cheers Tony Quote Link to comment
ForsdykeFinders
Did you go for the 'b' spec one or the 'g'? Is it restrictive not having the 'g' spec? I see there are some that do both. Quote Link to comment
rutson
g can go to 54Mbps, b goes to 11Mbps, g can do b too. Quote Link to comment
DaBeEm
wish i'd spotted this - just ordered my p550 today!!! Quote Link to comment
Brynric
I have one for my Acer, bought from Ebuyer a while ago. It works well enough in a wifi zone but its difficult to read vast tracts of information because of the screen size. Some sites have PDA specific options. Of course with the SD slot in use as wifi, it can't be used for SD storage. Brynric Quote Link to comment
John Stead
I have used a wifi CF card with fair success with an Ipaq 2210. I think it cost about £20 on ebay. Quote Link to comment

John NW
We too use an Acer - ours is the N35 could anyone say whether a SD Wi Fi adapter would would on this unit? Many thanks Quote Link to comment
molrams
Word of warning! I bought a Socket SD 802.11b card for my Mio 168. However this requires SDIO Now! which the Mio does not have. The PDA will crash after a few minutes of operation. I have not plucked up the courage to buy another one as all the newer version seem to require Now ! Quote Link to comment
adambro
I'm using an Acer N35 with a SPECTEC 11b/g SDIO WLAN card. Quote Link to comment
